PaperCut for Staff

The school district has now moved to a new printing system called PaperCut.  This gives everyone the ability to send all print requests to one installed printer on their computer versus having to find which printer they want from the sometimes long list of printers from before.  This one installed printer allows everyone to send their requests to one “virtual” printer and then walk up to the nearest physical printer, anywheres in the school district and with a swipe of your badge, print your request right then and there.

Printing

1. When you print for the first time, click on See more and choose “MSAD6 Printers” from the list of printers:

2.  Set the size of paper for the first time to letter size.  Some programs and browsers will not remember this setting; make sure you check this or you will not be able to print:

3.  You will be prompted to sign in to allow the print request.  Your username is your bonnyeagle.org email address (ex. johnsmieth@bonnyeagle.org), your password is your bonnyeagle.org password. Click the checkbox for “Remember this password in my keychain”. You will only need to login one time and your computer will remember the login information.

Chrome Device Users:

For Chrome Device users, the process is very simple.  When you go to print for the first time, you will need to change your “Print Destination”.  You will need to click on the “Destination” drop down and then select “See more…”:

You will then need to select “MSAD6 Printers - [BE-GPrint]” in the new window that opens up:

Then make any changes to the print options that you need and complete the print request by hitting “Print”:

You should only have to select “MSAD6 Printers” the first time, after that it will become your last used printer and will allows remain the first option when you print the next time.

How to Retrieve Your Print Requests:

Now comes the really new part of printing, how to retrieve your print requests from any printer in the district.

All of the large Toshiba copier/printers in the district are now equipped with badge readers.  This allows all staff members, with a press of their badge; to retrieve print requests, make copies, and to scan documents to email(s).  In a very secure manner, without the fear of your prints being thrown away by accident, or someone reading a confidential document before you are able to retrieve it, or someone sending a document to the wrong and/or broken printer by accident.

To retrieve your print request from one of the Toshiba copier/printers, you will need to log in to the printer. You can log in with either of these two methods:

 Log-in using your Badge:

With your district issued badge, simply press it to the copier/printer in one of two locations. The copier/printer will have either a large silver sticker that looks or a black sticker:

 OR

When you press your badge to these stickers, the copier/printer will make a beep sound and the display on the copier/printer will look like this:

Log-in using your District Email’s Username and Password:

You can also log into the copier/printer with your district email’s username and password.  On the copier/printer’s display it will have a green button labeled, “Username and password”.  Then enter your bonnyeagle.org email and password.

Retrieving your Prints:

To retrieve your prints, press the “Print Release” button on the screen and the screen will change to show you a list of print requests you have pending:

Select the print job or jobs you want to print by pressing the checkbox and then press “Print”

Once you are done, be sure to press the yellow button twice to log yourself out of the copier:

Accessing the Copier to make Copies or Scan to Email:

To access the main functions of the copier itself, so you can make copies, or send scans of documents to other people, you will need to log into the copier/printer like you did before to retrieve your print requests. Press the “Access Device” button:

Once you have pressed the “Access Device” button, the screen will change to the familiar copier function screen.  Here you will be able to make copies and interact with the copier, as well as access the “Scan to Email” function.  You can do this by pressing the “Home” button on the copier (looks like a house):

On this screen now, press the “Scan” function, this will bring you to the “Scan to Email” screen:

Where you can now choose who you wish to send a scan of a document to:

Once you are done, be sure to press the yellow button twice to log yourself out of the copier:

Scan:

The scan option, gives you the ability to quickly scan a document and send it to yourself as an email.  This option is a little faster then the “Access Device” route for sending a scan to yourself, but it will not let you change the send address, so you will not be able to send it to some else.  To scan a document to yourself, press the “Scan” button once you have logged into the copier/printer. The screen will then change to “Scan to My Email.”

All you have to do now is place the document you want to scan, either in the document feeder on top, or on the glass of the copier and then press the “Start” button on the screen.  This will scan the document and send it to your district email.  Once you are done, be sure to press the yellow button twice to log yourself out of the copier:
